Day of Surgery

What you need to know for the Day of Surgery:

Check-in – When you arrive at our center we ask that you check-in at the registration desk to verify personal, escort and insurance information.

Following Admission – After checking in at our center, you will be brought to the pre-operative area where the nurse will do a health interview and prepare you for surgery. An anesthesiologist will discuss your anesthesia with you and answer any questions. Your family or escort will remain in the lobby until your pre-operative process is complete. At the appropriate time you will be escorted to the operating room.  During surgery your escort will stay in a waiting are and will rejoin you in the Recovery area after your surgery.

Pediatric Patients – One or both parents will be brought back to the pre-operative area where the nurse will do a health interview, prepare your child for surgery and an anesthesiologist will discuss anesthesia for your child with you and answer any questions.  Once your child is escorted to the operative area, you will be asked to wait in the lobby until a recovery room nurse asks you to rejoin your child in the recovery area.
